Work Permits in Russia for foreigners

As a businessman and owner of a Russian business you do not need any work permits. Once you have registered a company in Russia you are free to recruit Russian nationals as your employees. However, if you do not hold a wrok permit, you will need to recruit a Russian national as CEO of your business.

If you do not appoint a Russian national as CEO or if you intend to hire foreign nationals then you will need to apply for a work permit and medical-care card for each foreign employee that you recruit. You will also need a General Permit of UFMS (Official Migration Service Department) for your llc in Russia. This permit is required if your company intends to recruit any employees who are not Russian nationals.
